The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pinecrest Academy, who took down 102nd ranked George Walton Academy, 29-10.
The Paladins moved up to 251 from 317 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in A Region 8. Pinecrest Academy climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Bulldogs 29-10.
George Walton Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hunter Rice has thrown for 239 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Casey Shubert has seven catches for 96 yards. Stanley Williams leads the league in rushing with 850 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when George Walton Academy takes on Athens Academy. Don Williams' team's offense has racked up 222 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Spartans have allowed only 47 on the year.
A big matchup in A Region 8 this week will be when Athens Academy takes on the Bulldogs. As it stands, Michael Gunn's team is in first, while George Walton Academy is in third.
The Spartans extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Commerce, 45-7. The win marks seventh in a row for the Athens Academy.
