The Treutlen Vikings won against the Hawkinsville Red Devils last Tuesday with 58 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Treutlen narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hawkinsville 58-55. The win was familiar territory for Treutlen who now have eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Hawkinsville still got an impressive performance from Darius Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 20 rebounds. Anderson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Harlem Phillips was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Treutlen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Hawkinsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Treutlen will face off against Dooly County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dooly County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Treutlen is ranked 171st). As for Hawkinsville, they will head out on the road to challenge Wilcox County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wilcox County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
