Softball Recap: Diamond Has No Trouble Against Pierce City

Diamond never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Pierce City Eagles. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Sara Roszell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Diamond got a big performance out of Lauren Turner, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Talan Ingle, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Diamond pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pierce City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Diamond will be playing at home against Columbus at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pierce City, they will square off against Southwest at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
