Basketball Recap: Vanguard College Prep Victorious

Lodi Academy came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Vanguard College Prep, but Xavier Lopez wouldn't allow it. The Vanguard College Prep Lions really took it to the Lodi Academy Titans for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-37 win thanks in part to Lopez, who went 12 of 21 on his way to 35 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landen Lippert, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Berreth, who had eight points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Vanguard College Prep's record now sits at 5-9. As for Lodi Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Vanguard College Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ben Holt College Prep Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64 points per game this season. As for Lodi Academy, they will welcome Humphreys Able Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
