Tri-City Athletic League recap November 19, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Tri-City Athletic League this week, Stagg beat Beyer 32-14. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Tokay fell to Granite Bay 58-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Samuele Lewis in the defeat.
Stagg's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Wayne Brooks threw for 312 and 4 touchdowns and Jamareus Spivey had 130 yards receiving. On the ground Davon Gillum contributed 143 yards. Lester Williams helped Stagg's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 116 yards.
He went 20-31 with 1 interception.
Spivey was the best receiver in the league this week as Don Norton's team beat the Patriots. Spivey tallied 7 receptions for 130 yards. Williams helped Stagg's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 116 yards.
Stagg's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Delta Kings feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brooks has thrown for 2,216 yards and 31 touchdowns this season, while Williams has 40 catches for 837 yards.
The Delta Kings' Daniel Ruffin needs only 45 yards against Pleasant Grove next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Ruffin has rushed for 955 yards on 125 carries so far this year.
Stagg led the league in scoring this week after putting up 32 points on Beyer. Brooks ran for 34 yards during the win.
