The Franklin County Tech Eagles came tearing into Thursday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Pioneer Valley Regional with a 42-37 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Franklin County Tech also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
It was another big night for Hannah Gilbert, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lea Chapman, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three blocks.
Franklin County Tech's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Pioneer Valley Regional, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin County Tech will take on Montachusett RVT at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pioneer Valley Regional, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Turners Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Turners Falls and Pioneer Valley Regional are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
