Windermere has won three straight games at home, while Timber Creek has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Windermere Wolverines will welcome the Timber Creek Wolves at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Windermere: 2.3, Timber Creek: 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Thursday, Windermere made easy work of Horizon and carried off an 11-1 victory. Considering the Wolverines have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jacob Bateman was a standout: he scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Calzadilla, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Timber Creek sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Apopka on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted against the Blue Darters since March 2, 2015.
Timber Creek also got a great performance from Jenuel Velazquez as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.
At the plate, Elijah Buffaloe was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Windermere's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Timber Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Windermere has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Timber Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Windermere skirted past Timber Creek 2-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will Windermere repeat their success, or does Timber Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
