Middle College has enjoyed the comforts of home their last six games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Contreras Cobras at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Middle College will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 791st, while Contreras is ranked 368th).
With a playoff game on the line, Middle College rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Titans as they made off with a 8-2 victory. The result was nothing new for Middle College, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.
They hit Community Charter with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Kosisochukwu Njoku (4),
Devin Rivera (2),
Omar Torres, and
Diangelo Urtiz.
Meanwhile, Contreras has not lost a match since January 10th, a trend which continued in their latest game last Wednesday. They and Belmont finished up their matchup with a 0-0 draw.
Middle College pushed their record up to 9-5-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five matches. Contreras' draw gives them a new season record of 8-3-3.
