Southwest is a perfect 10-0 against Southside since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Dragons will host the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Southwest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Southwest's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Jay 12-0. The Dragons have beaten the Mustangs the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mustangs has come to flipping the script.

Matthew Reyna made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, David Samudio was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jovonny Amador was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Southwest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jay only posted a batting average of .125.
Meanwhile, Southside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-2 to McCollum.
Southside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12-1. As for Southwest, their victory bumped their record up to 19-2.
Southside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Southwest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for Southside, though, as they've only averaged .231. Will they be able to contain Southwest's hitters?
Southwest got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Southside by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
