In what's become a running theme this season, the Longmont Trojans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Greeley West 57-26 on the road. The victory was just what Longmont needed coming off of a 56-34 loss in their prior game.
Longmont was led to victory by Kaila Patterson and Savannah Pohl. Patterson scored 30 points, while Pohl dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 13 rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Patterson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Stella Rulon, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Greeley West still got an impressive performance from Michaela Ellis, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Ellis grabbed two or more steals. Ella Lopez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Longmont has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Greeley West, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Longmont will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Silver Creek at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Silver Creek is ranked 124th, while Longmont is ranked 102nd). As for Greeley West, they will head out on the road to challenge Holy Family at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Family will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
