Basketball Recap: Jarrod Funk Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Galeton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Port Allegany). They enjoyed a cozy 46-32 victory over the Galeton Tigers on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Port Allegany's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarrod Funk, who shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Funk has scored at least a third of the Gators' points. Another player making a difference was Liam Hawver, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Port Allegany's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Galeton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Port Allegany is set to square off against their familiar foe Coudersport at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Galeton will face off against rival Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
