The Riverside Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Lakeside Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Riverside is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since April 30, 2025 on Saturday. They skirted past Medical Lake 11-9.
Lindsey Hudson-Wayne made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.

Riverside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.2.
Meanwhile, Lakeside earned a 15-12 victory over Colville on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Like Riverside, Lakeside also got a great game from a two-way player: Aleya Sturm. Throwing, Sturm tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Lily Taylor pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits. At the plate, Sturm went 2-for-4 with three RBI, while Taylor went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.
In other batting news, Avery Austin was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Tambre Hill also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Riverside's record is now 5-7-1. As for Lakeside, their record now sits at 11-6.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Riverside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Lakeside struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Riverside might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Lakeside when the teams last played last Friday. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
