Having just played yesterday, the Silverdale Academy Seahawks will jump right back in to play the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Silverdale Academy is looking to tack on another W to their 12-game streak on the road.
Even though Silverdale Academy has not done well against Notre Dame recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Silverdale Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 victory over Notre Dame. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Kennedy Okpara continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Wright, who scored 14 points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Boyd-Buchanan gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They really took it to Collegedale Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-37 victory on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Boyd-Buchanan who now have six in a row.
Silverdale Academy's victory bumped their record up to 25-3. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.
Silverdale Academy came up short against Boyd-Buchanan in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 53-47. Can Silverdale Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
