You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Bradford Prep Bears's strategy against the Langtree Charter Lions on Tuesday. Bradford Prep strolled past Langtree Charter with points to spare, taking the game 63-44. Given Bradford Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Langtree Charter is ranked 601st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bradford Prep found their leader in underclassman Jeremiah Jones, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Jones hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Omarion Dawkins was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists.
When it comes to explaining why Langtree Charter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Nesbit. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with eight assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Nesbit posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Ashton Munters, who scored ten points.
Bradford Prep's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-5. As for Langtree Charter, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.
Bradford Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gray Stone Day at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Gray Stone Day is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Langtree Charter will take on Corvian Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
