Conotton Valley came into Friday's game looking for another win against Catholic Central, but Matthew Sprochi wouldn't allow it. The Crusaders strolled past the Rockets with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 48-30 thanks in part to Sprochi, who rushed for 153 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 179 yards and one touchdown on only 16 passes. He has become a key player for Catholic Central: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Catholic Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Matty Jones.

Conotton Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was RJ Higgenbotham, who picked up 110 receiving yards and three scores. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 56 yards. Kaden Leggett was another key player, throwing for 178 yards and four touchdowns.

Catholic Central now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Conotton Valley, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3.

Coming up, Catholic Central will be playing at home against East Tech at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Conotton Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Mathews at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
