The Moriah Vikings are still undefeated this season after their game against the Saranac Spartans on Friday, but the Saranac Spartans came as close as anyone has to beating them. Moriah came out on top in a nail-biter against Saranac and snuck past 54-52. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Moriah has scored all season.
Moriah got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dieter Olcott out in front who scored four points along with ten rebounds and eight steals. Olcott is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Joe Pelkey, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Moriah's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20.92 points. As for Saranac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Moriah will be playing at home against Plattsburgh at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saranac, they will head out on the road to face off against Northeastern Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeastern Clinton and Saranac are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
