There's no place like home for the Grundy County Yellowjackets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 51-43 victory over Sequatchie County on Friday. Given Grundy County's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Sequatchie County is ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryker Terry, who scored 17 points. Beckham Mckendrick was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Grundy County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.7 points per game. As for Sequatchie County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grundy County will take on Whitwell at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Whitwell comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Sequatchie County, they will head out on the road to face off against Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 402 points over their last six games.
