After flying high against the Clear Lake Lions last Friday, The Humboldt Wildcats came back down to earth. Humboldt received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 26-7 to Webster City. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, Humboldt couldn't push the score so high this time.
Coen Matson rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown. Corey Dettmann was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Humboldt's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Webster City, the victory was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Humboldt will head out on the road to face off against Williamsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Williamsburg will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Webster City will take on Nevada at 7:00 p.m. on October 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Iowa (Nevada is ranked 20th, while Webster City is ranked 14th).
