Two dominant signal callers in Tate Catanese and Caden Bellis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama Wolfpack are on the road again on Friday and play against the Tioga Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama extended their postseason success on Friday against Canisteo-Greenwood. They blew past the Chargers, posting a 50-16 win on the road. Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama's victory was all the more impressive since Canisteo-Greenwood was averaging only 9.37 points allowed on the season.
It was another big night for Catanese, who threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Posker, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Tioga put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Dolgeville on the road to the tune of 56-12. Tioga's win was all the more impressive since Dolgeville was averaging only 14.55 points allowed on the season.
Tioga's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drew Macumber, who rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Macumber hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Ousmane Duncanson, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown.
Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Tioga, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 192.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tioga struggles in that department as they've been even better at 283.1 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in November of 2019, slipping by Tioga 28-27. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Tioga's Emmett Wood, who rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry.
