If the Berry Cardinal were feeling good off their 53-24 takedown of the West Mecklenburg Hawks last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Berry took a 46-30 bruising from Olympic on Friday. Berry was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Olympic apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Olympic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chai James, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points James has scored all season. Jasmyn Ashbourne was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Berry's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Olympic, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berry will take on Myers Park at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Olympic, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against South Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m.
