The West Florida Baptist Academy Conquerors are taking a road trip to face off against Trinitas Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, West Florida Baptist Academy put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. They put the hurt on Atmore Christian with a sharp 26-5 win. Considering the Conquerors have won five matches by more than 11 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ethan Salter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Salter was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cruz Duncan was a standout: he scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Jackson Fischer was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
West Florida Baptist Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Trinitas Christian hadn't done well against Central Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. Trinitas Christian blew past Central Christian 11-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Trinitas Christian.
Jackson Cowart made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
In other batting news, Landon Varela and Chase Petersen did most of the damage at the plate: Varela scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Petersen scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-5. Trinitas Christian is 2-1 when Petersen posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Joe Jordan, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Trinitas Christian picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Florida Baptist Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Trinitas Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .470. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Florida Baptist Academy took their victory against Trinitas Christian when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 16-2 score. Will the Conquerors repeat their success, or do Trinitas Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
