After three games on the road, Jurupa Hills is heading back home. They will take on the Aliso Niguel Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. After both teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Jurupa Hills had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against Irvine as Jurupa Hills made off with a 28-6 victory. The score was close at the half, but Jurupa Hills pulled away in the second half with 21 points.
Among those leading the charge was Jordan Pernillo, who rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Pernillo's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Pittman, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Aliso Niguel can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They put the hurt on Lawndale with a sharp 28-7 win. The victory was just what Aliso Niguel needed coming off of a 49-0 defeat in their prior game.
Among those leading the charge was Hunter Najm, who rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Jurupa Hills to 5-6 and Aliso Niguel to 7-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Jurupa Hills has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 155.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Aliso Niguel struggles in that department as they've been even better at 166.5 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
