There's no place like home for The Northern Guilford Nighthawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Western Guilford 42-14 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-6.
Among those leading the charge was Dwight Hall, who rushed for 203 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Hall was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Mcinnis, who rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Western Guilford saw an underclassman step up: Caleb Moore rushed for 167 yards on only five carries, and also threw for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
Northern Guilford's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Western Guilford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northern Guilford will take on Grimsley at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. One thing working in Grimsley's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven matches. As for Western Guilford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ragsdale at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Ragsdale comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
