Basketball Recap: Wolcott College Prep Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Wolcott College Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They put the hurt on the Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park Hawks with a sharp 30-9 win on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Wolcott College Prep had a senior duo take command as Eliana Henschel posted eight points in addition to eight steals and five rebounds and Sydney Reynolds scored four points along with six boards and four steals. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for Henschel. Another player making a difference was Margot Kelley, who put up eight points.

Wolcott College Prep's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Wolcott College Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-14 loss against Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus on the 13th. As for Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 38-8 defeat against British International School of Chicago on the 13th.
