Maryvale hasn't had much luck against Shadow Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will host the Stallions at 3:45 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Maryvale will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Coronado on Friday. The Panthers blew past the Dons 15-5. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Julian Meraz and Sebastian Gonzalez made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Meraz tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Gonzalez struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for Maryvale: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 3-9 otherwise. At the plate, Meraz got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run, while Gonzalez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Meraz has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Xasiel Reyes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Nathan Benavidez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Shadow Ridge made sure to put some runs up on the board against Apollo on Monday. The Stallions put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 10-4 win.
Shadow Ridge's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Maryvale, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.
Maryvale might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Shadow Ridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
