The Lakeview Bulldogs suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of McKinley by a score of 49-46. That's two games in a row now that Lakeview has lost by exactly three points.
Katie Heinselman was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Heinselman is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ava Ferri was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Lakeview's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-11. As for McKinley, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeview on the road again on Saturday and play against Mathews at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for McKinley, they will take on Hubbard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Hubbard is ranked 577th, while McKinley is ranked 584th).
