The Granville Central Panthers entered their tilt with the Carrboro Jaguars with three consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with four. Granville Central strolled past Carrboro with  points to spare on Friday, taking the game  64-49. Given Granville Central's advantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 183rd, while Carrboro is ranked 379th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Leading Granville Central to victory were  Cj Alston and  Jordan Alston.  Alston  scored 16 points along with seven  rebounds and seven  steals, while  Alston  scored 23 points along with six  rebounds and five  steals. Alston is on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's  played.  Trent Harrington was another key contributor,  scoring eight points along with 13  rebounds.
 Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Bakari Watkins, who  scored 16 points along with seven  rebounds and six  blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sam Kanjorski, who  scored 14 points.
 Granville Central's win was  their fifth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 12-5. As for Carrboro,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 8-9.
 Granville Central will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Durham School of the Arts at 6:00  p.m.  on January 30th. Hopefully Durham School of the Arts focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 24 on Friday. As for Carrboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southern Durham at 8:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Southern Durham has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
