The Hancock Central Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Greene County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Last Friday, Hancock Central was the victim of a rough 41-20 defeat at the hands of Johnson County. Hancock Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.
Despite their defeat, Hancock Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Dontriel Grable, who gained 109 total yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Solomar Battle, who threw for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Greene County was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 20-10 win over Washington-Wilkes.
Hancock Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Greene County, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 9-1 record.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Hancock Central has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 193.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Greene County struggles in that department as they've been even better at 211.9 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
