The St. James Saints will be playing at home against the King Abdullah Academy Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for St. James and 25 for King Abdullah Academy dating back to last season.
St. James suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were beaten by Springdale Prep 69-24. While losing is never fun, St. James can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Springdale Prep is ranked 110th).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 65-12, which was the final score in King Abdullah Academy's tilt against Randolph-Macon Academy on Saturday.
St. James bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.4 points per game. As for King Abdullah Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
Everything came up roses for St. James against King Abdullah Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 48-6 victory. Will St. James repeat their success, or does King Abdullah Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
