West Laurens (Dexter, Ga.) was defeated by
Westside (Macon, Ga.), 21-6.
The Seminoles were up 7-0 at the half after taking the lead on a punt return touchdown in the second quarter.
Westside expanded its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. WHS scored once in the quarter on a passing touchdown.
The Raiders'
Trevosier Mitchell played well. He caught one touchdown. He has now scored two touchdowns on the season.
West Laurens' lone touchdown came on a 20-yard pass from
Garrel Quainton to Mitchell in the fourth quarter.
A 24-21 Westside victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after West Laurens defeated Rutland 14-7 last week. The loss snapped WL's 3-game winning streak.
West Laurens (3-2) will play a AAAA Region 2 game against Perry next week, while Westside (4-1) will take on Mary Persons also in a AAAA Region 2 game.
