Patriot Prep Academy has not had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Patriot Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: Faith Thomas scored 29 points. That was a full 85.3% of Patriot Prep Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
It was another big night for Hawa Ba, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds for Horizon Science Academy. It was the first time this season that Ba scored 15 or more points. Halima Elmi was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Patriot Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Horizon Science Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patriot Prep Academy will challenge the Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grandview Heights is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. Horizon Science Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Presidents at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th.
