Softball Recap: Chillicothe Has No Trouble Against Unioto

Chillicothe hadn't done well against Unioto recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cavaliers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Shermans. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Cambriana Rittinger made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vivian Morgan, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Cadie Boltenhouse was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.

Chillicothe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Unioto only managed four hits.

Chillicothe's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Unioto, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

Chillicothe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Unioto, they will challenge Zane Trace at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
