Make it six blowout wins for the Seacrest Country Day Stingrays this season. They blew past Fort Myers, posting a 71-19 victory at home. Given Seacrest Country Day's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Fort Myers is ranked 485th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seacrest Country Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ty'Nazia Smith led the charge by scoring 11 points along with eight assists and four steals. That's the first time this season that Smith posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Kailee Hayhurst, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Seacrest Country Day pushed their record up to 15-4 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Fort Myers, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
