Big Walnut is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over Whetstone. The Golden Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Kennedy Reed and Sarah Adams were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Reed struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Adams struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Reed has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Reed got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, while Adams went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Adams has posted since back in April.

Keely Pollard made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pollard was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Back at the plate, Carly Kennedy was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Gabby Beck was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Mt. Vernon pushed their record up to 23-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Big Walnut, their record now sits at 15-12.
