Heritage Academy have gone a perfect 10-0 against Heritage Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Heritage Academy will face off against Heritage Academy at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
The Heroes are on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past the Eagles 17-2. The victory was just business as usual for the Heroes, who after 15 games remain undefeated this season.
The team relied heavily on Maya Zappa, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Riley Reiss was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
The Heroes were getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, the Heroes never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Storm as they made off with a 16-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Heroes in their matchups with the Storm: they've now won seven in a row.
Tatum Meeker was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the Heroes got a massive performance out of Elsie Earll, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Avery Jones also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
The Heroes' record now sits at 15-0. As for the Heroes, their record is now 17-2.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Heritage Academy haven't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .532. However, it's not like Heritage Academy struggle in that department as they've averaged .491. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
