The Cohasset Skippers will head out on the road to take on the Monomoy Sharks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Cohasset entered their tilt with Academy of Notre Dame with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cohasset breezed by Academy of Notre Dame on the road to the tune of 63-29 back in January. Cohasset has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season.
Even though Monomoy has not done well against Cape Cod Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Monomoy walked away with a 57-48 win over Cape Cod Academy. Given Monomoy's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Cape Cod Academy is ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cohasset's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Monomoy, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Cohasset came up short against Monomoy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 62-49. Can Cohasset avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
