The Lewisburg Green Dragons will take on the Midd-West Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewisburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Lewisburg barely beat Danville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Green Dragons put the hurt on the Ironmen with a sharp 13-5 victory on Monday.
Lewisburg got a massive performance out of Landynn Bieber, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI Bieber has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Colin Shannon, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lewisburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Midd-West hadn't done well against Selinsgrove recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Seals. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.
River Knepp was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Knepp was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Trawitz, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Braxton Smith was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Midd-West's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Lewisburg, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
