On Friday, the Southeast Cyclones faced the Tongue River Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Southeast fell 43-34 to Tongue River. Southeast was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tongue River apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2020.
Despite the loss, Southeast still got an impressive performance from Ayden Desmond, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kannon Tippets, who scored nine points.
Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Tongue River, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Southeast will take on Hot Springs County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tongue River, they will square off against Douglas at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
