On Saturday, Poplarville beat Richton 35-25.
Poplarville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aleah Bester, who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tameah Bester, who scored 7 points.
Despite the defeat, Richton had strong showings from Nylah Robins, who scored 12 points, and Kalyjai Bolton, who scored 7 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. Robins scored a full 48% of Richton's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Poplarville's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Richton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Poplarville is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Pearl River Central at 6:00 p.m. on November 28th. As for Richton, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Petal at 6:00 p.m.
