Northwest Rankin extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Lauren Howard. The Northwest Rankin Cougars took down the Meridian Wildcats 57-38 on Friday thanks in part to Howard, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 19 points. Those 19 points gave her a new career-high.

Northwest Rankin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Northwest Rankin and Pontotoc will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Pontotoc will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Northwest Rankin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Meridian, they will square off against Neshoba Central at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. Neshoba Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season.
