After flying high against the Caldwell Cougars last Saturday, the Borah Lions came back down to earth. Borah took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blackfoot on Saturday.
Blackfoot found their leader in underclassman Austin Arave, who scored 14 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Arave has scored at least 25% of Blackfoot's points. Another player making a difference was Dax Whitney, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds.
Borah's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Blackfoot, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Borah will be playing in front of their home fans against Preston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Blackfoot, they will head out on the road to face off against Pocatello at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pocatello presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Blackfoot in Idaho (Pocatello is ranked third, while Blackfoot is ranked 56th).
