Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nandua). They enjoyed a cozy 70-54 win over the Chincoteague Ponies on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Nandua got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cody Ragone out in front who went 5 for 7 on his way to 11 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Ragone a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Caden Northan, who posted 12 points along with five assists and four steals.
Chincoteague's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Camaury Davis, who scored 18 points, and Matthew Taylor, who earned five points and eight boards. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played.
Nandua's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6. As for Chincoteague, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-7.
Nandua wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 76-54 victory against Salisbury Christian on the 31st. As for Chincoteague, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-45 defeat against Northampton on the 4th.
