Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oswego East). Everything went their way against the Plainfield South Cougars on Friday as the Oswego East Wolves made off with an 84-60 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

When it comes to explaining why Plainfield South lost, don't look at Layla Lesure. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. What's more, Lesure also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Zahira Edwards, who posted 11 points.

Oswego East's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Plainfield South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Oswego East will take on Providence Catholic in a tournament on Thursday. Oswego East has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Plainfield South, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lincoln-Way East at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Plainfield South is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.
