Manti has gone 9-1 against North Sanpete recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Manti is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 9, 2024 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Salem Hills 58-29. The contest marked the Templars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Despite the loss, Manti had strong showings from June Olsen, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds, and Brianne Dover, who had five points. That was a full 48.3% of Manti's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, North Sanpete hadn't done well against Juan Diego Catholic recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. North Sanpete greeted the New Year with with a 45-27 victory over Juan Diego Catholic. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.
Manti better focus on containing Evie Kendall and Lucy Hiatt as the pair were huge in North Sanpete's win. Kendall posted 14 points and three steals, while Hiatt put up eight points and five rebounds.
North Sanpete is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season. As for Manti, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Manti has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.4 boards per game.
