The Rancho Mirage Rattlers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 27-14 win over La Quinta. For Rancho Mirage, this counts as revenge for the 57-27 loss La Quinta walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Jeremiah Williams was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns. Edward Johnson also helped out with an impressive 134 receiving yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding La Quinta to a paltry 181 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Rancho Mirage's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Mason Hershberger and his two sacks.
Rancho Mirage's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.3 points per game. As for La Quinta, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Rancho Mirage will head out on the road to face off against Xavier Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for La Quinta, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shadow Hills at 7:00 p.m.
