Santa Fe and Gainesville are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Santa Fe Raiders will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Gainesville Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Santa Fe posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They blew past Celebration 62-21 on the road.
Meanwhile, everything went Gainesville's way against P.K. Yonge on Wednesday as Gainesville made off with a 67-46 win. With Gainesville ahead 39-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Santa Fe's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Gainesville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Santa Fe couldn't quite finish off Gainesville when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 56-53. Can Santa Fe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
