Chatham Hall is 0-9 against Virginia Episcopal School since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Chatham Hall Turtles will head out on the road to take on the Virginia Episcopal School Bishops at 6:00 p.m. Chatham Hall is no doubt hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
While Chatham Hall couldn't quite beat North Cross on Wednesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 56-point loss they were dealt two weeks ago. Chatham Hall fell just short of North Cross by a score of 36-33. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chatham Hall in their matchups with North Cross: they've now lost four in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Hana Vogtman, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Priscella Bennsion was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Virginia Episcopal School had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 68-55 victory over State Line HomeSchool R. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Virginia Episcopal School relied on the efforts of Kyraha Parnell, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, and Sasha Brody, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Parnell is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Taniyah Ford, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Chatham Hall's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Virginia Episcopal School, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Chatham Hall took a serious blow against Virginia Episcopal School when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 56-9. Can Chatham Hall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
