Last Saturday, Miami-Yoder had to suffer through a rough 47-20 loss at the hands of Hi-Plains. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Miami-Yoder has scored all season.
Miami-Yoder's loss came about despite a quality game from Natalie Tinoco, who scored three points along with five rebounds and five steals. Tinoco is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.
Meanwhile, Cripple Creek-Victor's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 58-32 defeat at the hands of Pikes Peak Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cripple Creek-Victor in their matchups with Pikes Peak Christian: they've now lost six in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Allyson Durham, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Savanna Kisseberth, who scored four points along with five steals.
Miami-Yoder's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Saturday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Miami-Yoder have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.2 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Cripple Creek-Victor, though, as they've been averaging only 6.6 rebounds per game. Given Miami-Yoder's sizeable advantage in that area, Cripple Creek-Victor will need to find a way to close that gap.
