Baseball Recap: Mccluer's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

McCluer made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Normandy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Comets never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 14-0 win on Tuesday. This was payback for the Comets, who suffered a 15-9 loss the last time these two teams met.

Andre Bell was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Deion Haynes, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for McCluer and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Normandy, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCluer will venture away from home to challenge Hazelwood East at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Normandy, they will head out to square off against Cardinal Ritter College Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
