Basketball Game Preview: Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions vs. iMater Charter Knights

Immaculata-La Salle has gone 10-0 against iMater Charter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions will head out on the road to take on the iMater Charter Knights at 7:30 p.m. IMater Charter took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Immaculata-La Salle, who comes in off a win.

Last Wednesday, Immaculata-La Salle strolled past David Posnack Jewish Day with points to spare, taking the game 45-26. Given the Royal Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Rams are ranked 459th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Alexandra Gonzalez Casar, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Peilin Aguilar-Hou, who posted six points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Immaculata-La Salle was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as David Posnack Jewish Day only racked up nine assists.

Meanwhile, iMater Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Schoolhouse Prep 63-13.

IMater Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Immaculata-La Salle, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.

Immaculata-La Salle took their victory against iMater Charter when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 51-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Immaculata-La Salle since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
